Chandragiri Tour and Experience

Chandragiri Hill is one of the four hills that lay South-West of Kathmandu Valley. It is at an altitude of 2551 meters above sea level. As the hill is only accessible by cable car or hiking, it is a natural treasure for the people who would retreat away from screaming urban life. The cable car that leads to the hilltop takes 9-15 minutes to travel the distance of 2.5 km. There are about 38 gondolas in the Cable Car System, which can carry 1000 people hourly. The experience of riding the cable car is thrilling as you will view the landscapes of Kathmandu valley and a panoramic view of the Great Himalayan Range of Nepal.

Chandragiri Hill is a famous viewpoint that attracts local and international tourists. It is crowded with local tourists when there is snowfall in the region. Fresh air and breathtaking scenes are not only the redeeming factor of the hill point, but also the Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple is a historical, religious, and cultural monument. The temple displays traditional pagoda style with exquisite wall carvings of many deities and wooden windows. There are many small temples and statues of other gods in the area. Unified Nepal was the effort of Great King Prithvi Narayan Shah. So, a statue of the king is placed there as it is believed that before conquering Kathmandu Valley, he received the blessings of Bhaleshwor Mahadev.

Being a popular spot as many individuals frequently visit, there is a children's park where small children can play, a restaurant, many gift shops, and various eateries. Thus it is a family-friendly place where you can travel with young and old.
