Introduction - Hindu Pilgrimage Tour in Nepal

Nepal is a nation supporting many castes, cultures, and religions. Today, all the people co-exist in the country like different flowers in the garden. But since ancient times Hinduism and Buddhism have been the epicenters in the country. Thus we have many historical and religious sites to explore and worship. In this Pilgrimage Tour in Nepal, we will take you to Nepal's most foraged and sought spiritual sites. So, let us briefly introduce the places you will visit in this religious venture.

Janakpur or Janakpurdham is in the Madhesh province of Nepal. According to tradition and storytelling, it is the Mithila region of ancient times, so King Janak's palace was in Janakpur. Also, Goddess Sita lived in Janakpur. And the marriage of deity Ram and Sita took place there. Therefore Janakpur is also a pilgrimage site of Hinduism. Janaki Mandir is the popular destination in Janakpur.

Kathmandu is also a popular pilgrimage site in Nepal. As it is called the city of temples, many temple complexes and Stupas are here. Pashupatinath temple complex is the most prevalent temple for Hindus, especially Shiva devotees. Many Hindus from across Nepal's border visit the temple on the occasion of 'Shivaratri.' Other popular locations are Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square, which possess religious and architectural masterpieces in the region. The Bouddhanath and Swayambhunath Stupas are the most popular gumbas for Buddhist and Hindu worshippers. They are also major tourist attractions. All of them are UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Nepal. Lastly, the popular attraction is Chandragiri Hill and view tower, accessible by a gondola ride or hike for 4/5 hours. It also has a Mahadev Temple at the top.

Muktinath is a popular tourist spot away from the bustling and loud urban areas. Muktinath has a temple of God Vishnu at the altitude of 3800 meters, thus one of the world's highest temples. It is the only Divya Desams (Divine Realm) located outside India. Divya Desams/Vaishnava Divya Desams are mentioned in works of Alvars (Tamil Poets) and are temples of Deities Vishnu and Laxmi. It is also called "Thiru Saligramam."

Pokhara is a beautiful city that welcomes most tourists for relaxation or trek in the Annapurna region. Nevertheless, it also has many religious sites with amazing natural views in Nepal. The most treasured panoramic viewpoint is Sarangkot. The sunrise from the view tower is arresting with the scenery of the Himalayas and Pokhara City. The Pumdikot view tower is also not far from Sarangkot with the views and the 51 feet tall statue of Mahadev. The temple of Bindhyabasini is the oldest in Pokhara. The temple is on top of a hill with smaller temples of God and Goddesses like Saraswati, Shiva, Hanuman, and Ganesh. You can see mountains from the North of the temple and Pokhara City from the South. Other excellent destinations are Davis Falls, Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, and Tal Barahi Temple in Phewa Lake.

If you want to visit Nepal's religious and heritage sites as luxuriously as possible, join us on this Pilgrimage tour around Nepal. We are happy to serve you, especially the Indian tourists traveling for the "Dharmic Yatra" with their families, children, and friends.
