    Introduction - Pokhara and Muktinath Religious Experience

    Nepal is one of the most religious and culture-oriented countries in the world. As Nepal is a mix of religions, it mainly follows Hinduism and Buddhism from the beginning. So, we welcome you to our new package: Pilgrimage experience in Pokhara and Muktinath.

    On this trip, we will first head to Muktinath from Tatopani. Muktinath temple is at a height of 3800 meters, thus one of the highest altitude temples in the world. The Muktinath temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, with many other small temples on its periphery. After visiting Muktinath Temple, we will trace our way back to Pokhara and explore Pokhara.

    Pokhara, also known as Cherapunji of Nepal, is a popular spot due to its splendid environment, but you can also dive deep into the religious and harmonious culture. There are various temples and historical sites that drip with devotion. You will visit Bindhyabasini temple, Tal Barahi Temple at the center of Phewa Lake, and Shiva Temple in Gupteshwor Cave and Pumdikot.

    We want this experience to be family-friendly, so you can enjoy this trip with your parents, children, and close friends and visit some tourist-friendly spots like Sarangkot View Point for alluring sunrise and panoramic view of mountains like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchre, and Manaslu. Also, the scenery of Phewa Lake and the city of Pokhara is mesmerizing. Pumdikot has the 51 feet statue of Lord Shiva but also impressive views. This package also includes Davis Falls and International Mountain Museum for relaxation and learning about the mountains of Nepal.

    Pokhara and Muktinath Religious Experience FAQS

    Essential Information

    • We will cater all meals on a full board basis in Muktinath, Tatopani, and Pokhara. At Muktinath and Tatopani, we will be catering meals thrice a day (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, including tea and coffee during the meal). The meals comprise various traditional Nepali dishes and the dishes that are found. Throughout the stay in Pokhara, meals are on a full board basis. The hotel in Pokhara will provide us with breakfast and dinner according to their arrangements. For lunch, we will be visiting any restaurants and hotels during our travel. Snacks and bottled drinks (including mineral water and liquor) are excluded from the package. We provide three nights of twin-sharing lodging in a 5-star deluxe hotel during the stay in Pokhara, and one night of twin-sharing lodging in Teahouse/Lodge in Muktinath and Tatopani (single occupancy is available on request with a single supplement).

    Pokhara and Muktinath Religious Experience - Itinerary

    Day 01  Pick up from Sunauli border and drive to Tatopani

    We welcome you to Nepal. As you arrive near the Sunauli-Nepal border, we will be at the side of Nepal to pick you up and drive you to Tatopani. The drive will be 13 to 15 hours long till you reach Tatopani. At Tatopani, we will drop you at your hotel. You can freshen up and rest after a long ride.

    Day 02  Drive to Muktinath

    We will begin our journey in our private vehicle as we drive to Muktinath. We can see the beautiful scenery of hills, rivers, and mountains along the way to Muktinath. After reaching Muktinath, we will check in to our hotel. We can go to the Muktinath Temple today if there is time or early in the morning tomorrow.

    Day 03  Visit Muktinath Temple and back to Pokhara

    Today, we will visit Muktinath Temple early in the morning. You can perform pooja and worship the God Vishnu in the Temple. The temple of Muktinath is a sacred Vishnu temple for Hindus and Buddhists. It is located at the base of Thorong La pass in Muktinath Valley. It is at an altitude of 3800 meters and can be considered one of the world's highest temples. After your darshan in the temple, we will head back to Pokhara.

    Day 04  Sunrise in Sarangkot and Pokhara Sightseeing

    Today, we will wake up before dawn and head to Sarangkot. Sarangkot is at an altitude of 1600 meters. It will take half an hour to reach Sarangkot. Sarangkot view tower is a famous place to observe the sunrise as the glistening mountain range of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri and many mountain peaks like Machhapuchhre and Manaslu. You can also see the city of Pokhara from north to south and Phewa Lake. Many people enjoy paragliding in Sarangkot. We will stay there for about 90 minutes and move to our next destination.

    Our next destination will be the Bindhyabasini Temple, dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati (reincarnation of Goddess Kali). It is said that the temple is linked with the temple of Utter Pradesh, Vindhyachal. The temple is the oldest temple of Pokhara, with small temples of many Gods like Shiva, Ganesh, Hanuman, and Saraswati. The temple is of Shikhara style, with two golden metal lions at the temple gate and a bell.

    We will then move towards our hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, we will climb higher to 1500 meters and reach Pumdikot. Pumdikot viewpoint has a 51 feet long Shiva statue and a theme park with 108 Shiva Linga and Steps. The striking view of Pokhara, Sarangkot, Phewa Lake, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri is glorious from the Pumdikot.

    As our journey continues, we will visit Davis Falls. It is a tranquil and underground waterfall. It travels 30 meters below ground and is 150 meters long. Following the Davis Fall, we will enter Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave. It is over 2000 meters long, and we can hear the sound of the water from Davis Falls roaring in the cave. You can see some light bulbs and stairs carved in the cave to guide the devotees to the Mahadev Temple in the cave.

    Finally, we will visit International Mountain Museum. The museum has the history of the mountains, the people of the peaks, and mountaineering. After our visit, we will drive back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

    Day 05  Visit Tal Barahi Temple and Drive to the Sunauli border

    It is the last day of your religious tour and sightseeing. We will visit Phewa Lake and the Tal Barahi Temple at the center. It is a pagoda-style temple with Gajur on top. The temple worships Goddess Durga. After receiving our blessing in the temple, we will drive you back to the Sunauli border in a private vehicle and pray you to have a safe journey back home.
