Pikey Peak Trek is the new best trekking route in the Everest region. Everybody goes for the Everest base camp trek or Gokyo treks but the Pikey Peak trekking is another new trekking route with scenic destinations having views of many peaks such as Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Gaurishankar, Number Chuli, Thamserku, Kangtega, Khatang Dorje Lakpa, and Langtang. The Pikey peak is an amazing 10 days experience in the least visited tracks of Solukhumbu. Other than the view of the great Himalayas, the sunrise view from Pikey Peak at an altitude of 4070 meters is mesmerizing. It stands as the amazing viewpoint in entire Nepal. Not only the views of natural topography but the floral and fauna of the trails and destination are awe-inspiring. The forest of rhododendron, magnolia, and pine with birds and animals like tigers, lophophorous, bears, pandas, and cattle like yak, cow, and mountain goats are scattered at various elevations.
Visitors can have wonderful nature walks through scenic villages and get to know the cultures and traditions of the communities of Tamang, Gurung, and Sherpas. During the festive season, the devotees swarm the areas of monasteries wishing peace and prosperity to all the travelers. The trek can also be a camping experience and the best season is the months of September to November and March to May.
On this trek to Pikey Peak, we will start our journey by driving to Bamti Bhandar and the trek starts the next day. We will reach many places like Namkheli, Golla, and finally Pikey Base Camp for the overnight stay. Then we will hike to Pikey Peak (4070m) and then descend to Junbesi. We will visit Thupten Chholing monastery while we are in Junbesi and then head to Chiwong monastery finally reaching Phaplu. We will fly from Phaplu to Kathmandu and on the same day visit the three UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Nepal: Pashupatinath, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, and Bouddhanath marking the end of our 10 days Pikey Peak adventure and experience.
